Princess Square, as the name suggests, has an illustrious past.
The original property, Milbourne House sits on a piece of land with royal connections. The Crown bought it
in 1816 as a wedding present for Princess Charlotte, the popular only daughter of King George IV, and
her husband, Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg. The nation mourned when Charlotte died in 1817 after a stillbirth at their main country estate, Claremont. She was just 21 years old.
